Drop from double crochet seat

Finally got around to figuring out this drop I’ve seen floating around the gram. The mechanics are simple but it took some practice to work out the kinks and add some finesse. Thanks @p.s.circus and @mizukishina for the inspiration and @3rinnhicks for training with me tonight! . . . . . . . . . . . . . #aerialfabric #aerialsilks #aerialtissue #aerialistsofig #circusstrong #circustraining #cirqueduinsta #aerialaddict #aerialistsofinstagram #cirquegram #aerialbeauty #aerialarts #circusinternational #aerialflow #aerialtraining #circusperformer #aerialcircus #circusartistcirque #aerialmovement #denverdance #aerialdance #circuseverydamnday #aerialmovement #aerialtricks #aerialists #aeriallife #weheartaerial #cirque #denverarts #circusinspiration #strikeapose

😝 . Feliz entreno a todas! Twisty fallen angel

Technique Tip Tuesday ✨Twisty Fallen Angel! This skill looks impressive but can feel rather daunting when you're first learning it. Keep reading for insider tips! ~ 1) The first part of the set up is exactly the same as Single Fallen Angel (a.k.a. 360 drop). Invert with split fabrics, crochet your feet up, cross twice behind your back, wrap your knees from the inside out & thread them through the center. Lift your torso up & reach for the poles, lengthen your legs & pull-up arriving in a sitting position. Pass your shoulders to the front & Egg Beat your legs around the tails. ~ 2) Once your Single Fallen Angel wrap is on grab the poles together behind you. Begin to turn to one side, as you turn to press the poles below your bum. Continue to turn to the side, join your legs together & arrive in a pike to one side with your head lower than you bum. Lastly, reach your arms overhead. ~ 3) Before you drop, make sure you didn't lose any wraps around your legs & your tails aren't twisted (you need a min. of 2 wraps on each leg, you can add a 3rd for extra safety). ~ 4) Now the drop! Keep your arms reaching overhead as you sit your torso up to the side as if you're going to kiss the poles. Open your legs into a straddle, pike forward & T your arms to the side. It's best to walk it down until you understand the pathway before fully going for it. ~ 5) To exit, unwind the wraps from your legs & bird's nest out to release the cross on your back. 🔹Common Mistakes: #1 Not sitting your torso up = an ineffective drop & the tails may get tangled #2 Not committing = putting yourself in danger. Practice walking it down until you gain more confidence #4 Not straddling wide enough = it's likely your legs may kick the poles as you drop #3 Not Piking Forward = if you don't pike forward during the drop it will happen very quickly, piking is the key to slowing it down Safety tips: 🔹Your arms must open to the sides at the end of the drop, if you dive through the center you can fall out of it 🔹Double crossing the fabric behind you adds an extra safety 🔹Never practice drops without live instruction, from a tree or without a crash mat ~ ✨Show us your progress! If you are interested to delve into the meaning of aerial theory, I have published a book on it. Proximal, An Introduction to Aerial Theory. It focuses on key body positions for rolling through space. It's an all levels textbook. Demonstrated all on hammock and all skills apply to fabric. Aerial theory is a language applicable to all apparatuses. Visit the link in my bio or go to www.aerialdesign.co/proximal One of my most proud sequences. Mind bender. This is an original move of mine.
